Post-Battle: Try Heart Halves Necklaces

Mid-jog this morning, the gym televisions began to blast Jordin Sparks’s “Battlefield” music video.  She passionately sings:

“I never meant to start a waaaaaar!

You know I never wanna hurt youuuuu…
Don’t even know what we’re fighting forrrrrrr!
Why does love always feel like a BATTLEFIELD!?
A battlefield, a battlefieldddd!!!
Why does love always feel like a BATTLEFIELD!?
A battlefield, a battlefieldddddd!!!!
I guess you better go and get your armor….”
This song made me think of one of my newer necklaces: the “heart halves.”  I wear a cluster of 4 halves and love them!  They’re inspired by the cracked heart pendants I used to exchange with pals as a child.  Remember?  One half said “Best” and the other said “Friends” and each child wore a half!
My take on the old style has a different interpretation.  Yes, it is a heart and a fabulous shape to gift someone you care about, whether a family member, friend, or boy/girlfriend.  The deeper meaning is that there can be cracks in relationships, but the flaws sometimes make us more interesting and also, despite the cracks, the relationship can definitely be worth holding together!  The crack in between the two halves is a bit uneven, yet held together with the delicate chain, it is a charming, interesting pendant.
I hope you’re enjoying the crisp Fall weather!
Peace, Elisa
