Mirror mirror…

“I used to live in a room full of mirrors; all I could see was me.  I take my spirit and I crash my mirrors, now the whole world is here for me to see.”

– Jimi Hendrix
One of my favorite things about the Sixties was the spirituality and inner exploration.  People wanted to be GOOD.  People wanted to be BETTER.  People wanted to FEEL and UNDERSTAND and LEARN and GROW.  I sometimes wonder what’s goin’ on in our world today- people speak of unimportant realities and I feel confused as to why they are not filling their minds with the things that really count?
Perhaps the world is a different place, but I wish people’s mindset would be: “I’m going to try really hard to be and to do good.”
Anyways, I love the way Hendrix spoke about music, people, sadness, fame…he seemed to have a sense of humor about things.  I thought of his mirror quote when photographing a new ring.  It has smooth, round silver shapes that make up three flowers and each is set with an opal center.  The silver petals have a mirror-like effect and the luminescence of the opals is so captivating.
I hope you’re having a happy day.
Peace, Elisa
