Something Old :)

“Let us not be too particular; it is better to have old secondhand diamonds than none at all.”
-Mark Twain

Hello,

This week, there is a major jewelry show going on in the city, and I am reluctant to attend as it is so tempting to buy all sorts of beautiful new stones! One of my favorite steps in making jewelry is picking the stones. They make the piece unique on so many levels.

One of the newest 18 karat gold rings in my collection (shown above) features beautiful old mine cut diamonds that I stumbled upon a few months ago. The stones are quite old and valuable since it is extremely hard to find well-cut, authentic old mines.

I love the diamond rings in my collection that are made with older diamonds rather than newly cut stones. I feel like they come with a cool story that makes the piece even more special! One of my favorite rings from my personal collection actually uses a facetted diamond from a piece my great grandmother used to wear. It means all the more to me because I am wearing something that belonged to her.

I am happy to customize rings with stones that have meaning to you. Please feel free to email me at elisa@elisasolomon.com with any inquiries!

Peace,
Elisa
