Hi!
My latest piece was made in collaboration with my son. One of the unexpected things about being a mom is I’ve become an expert on all sorts of new topics based on what my children discover. We are all animal lovers in my family and one little amphibian in particular has been a favorite: the salamander.
My babes and I became more knowledgeable about salamanders by reading books about them, watching them in our favorite films, drawing pictures of them, and visiting the local nature center where they live. I decided it was time to make a bejeweled salamander and my son was joyfully involved in the creative process. As I carved the salamander out of wax, my son sat beside me and worked on his own wax creations. When it was time to select the stones, he looked through all the colors with me and helped choose the perfect eyes and skin hues.
This sweet salamander is set with two stone options. The first is my son’s favorite, a bright blue apatite salamander with blue sapphire eyes. The second is a white diamond and greenish gray blue alexandrite salamander with black diamond eyes. The Salamander Charm is available in 14 karat yellow, pink, or white gold. I hope this charming piece brings you as much delight as it brings my boy and me!
Peace and love,
Elisa
