Beads have been a constant in my collection since its inception because I love the bohemian feel they bring to fine jewelry. My daughter and I often bead together with plastic pony beads, making fun rainbow bracelets and necklaces! I decided to make her a special bead necklace as her birthday gift this year to honor the activity we so enjoy. I cast three tiny beads in yellow gold, set them with 1mm rubies (her July birthstone), and strung them on a dainty gold chain. Looking through my childhood jewelry box, I came upon a simple gold oval locket with a single diamond on the front. I was drawn to the timeless design and decided to make it my own! I carved a “puffy” oval, cast it in 14 karat yellow gold, set it with nineteen white diamonds around the border, engraved a script initial on the center, and fell in love with the updated design. The shark tooth necklace has been in my collection for about 15 years. I love its beachy vibe because I put it on and imagine I’m a surfer or chillin’ out on an island! When I made the pendant, I looked at a real shark tooth that I’d purchased on vacation and made a similar carving out of wax, adding realistic textures with my carving tools. I’ve always been attracted to how real it looks, even though it was carved by my hands (not from the mouth of a hammerhead)! My son, Asher, became very interested in sharks this year so I reinvented this piece for him. I’m stoked to share the Custom Engraved Shark Tooth Necklace! The front of the tooth is set with a single stone choice of rosecut white diamond, cabochon turquoise, opal, ruby, blue sapphire, emerald, paraiba tourmaline, or moonstone (Ash’s June birthstone is pictured). The back is hand engraved with a name, word, or date. My newest pair of earrings are inspired by my parents! I made the new Oval Earrings as a gift from my dad to my mom for their 45th wedding anniversary this month. My dad and mom have always guided me as a truly incredible team. I love creating a meaningful jewel for their anniversary celebrations. Lately, my mom prefers dangling earrings to studs so I carved an oval to represent infinity, eternity, and commitment. Each oval hangs from an earwire and chain. Eight 1mm white diamonds are set into each oval. The solid metal and sparkling stones in each earring represent strong, precious love!
